Choosing where to have scalp micropigmentation or laser tattoo removal done is a big decision, and you should not have to make it on faith. At Rico Clinic, we have been serving Montreal from the same address in Côte-des-Neiges since 2017 — that is roughly 8 years, 546+ treatments, and 135+ Google reviews at a 5.0 rating. This page lays out, plainly, who we are and why so many people across the city trust us with something as personal as their appearance.
I am Vlad, the clinic’s founder. I want you to know the team behind the work before you ever book — so here is the honest version of what makes this place different.
We have been in your shoes
Rico Clinic is a Montreal-based aesthetic clinic specializing in micropigmentation and laser tattoo removal, for both men and women. Our team includes two dedicated specialists, Vlad and Brice — and both of us have personally lived through hair loss.
We tried everything: medication, natural remedies, hair transplants, and, eventually, micropigmentation. Micropigmentation was the approach that actually worked for us, and that personal experience is the reason this clinic exists. When you sit down across the consultation desk from us, you are not talking to a salesperson reciting a script. You are talking to someone who has felt the same loss of confidence you might be feeling right now — and who came out the other side.
That lived experience, paired with our background in trichology (the study of the hair and scalp), lets us give advice that is genuinely useful rather than generic. We can tell you what is realistic for your case, what is not, and why. For some people the right answer is micropigmentation; for others it is laser tattoo removal; sometimes it is simply patience. We would rather give you the straight answer than oversell you.

A space designed for privacy and comfort
A lot of people feel self-conscious about hair loss or about an old tattoo they want gone. We get it — discretion matters. We designed the clinic so you can relax and embrace your new look one dot at a time, without feeling like the whole world is watching.
Our space is built around three rooms, each with a clear purpose:
- The consultation room — where we welcome you on your first visit, whether you are exploring micropigmentation or tattoo removal. This is where we listen to your goals, look at your specific situation, and map out the best approach together. No pressure, no commitment — just a real conversation.
- A dedicated micropigmentation room — equipped with a comfortable medical bed and a large TV, so you have something to distract you and the session feels relaxed rather than clinical.
- A combined treatment room — used for both micropigmentation and laser tattoo removal. It is fitted with state-of-the-art, FDA-cleared laser technology and a cooling air system that takes the edge off the sensation during your session.
Keeping treatment areas separate is not just about comfort — it is about privacy and hygiene. You get a calm, controlled environment every time.
How laser tattoo removal actually works
If laser removal is what brought you here, it helps to understand what is happening under the surface. The laser sends extremely short pulses of light into the skin. Tattoo ink absorbs that light and shatters into particles small enough for your body’s immune system to carry away over the following weeks. Your skin stays intact; the ink does the breaking down. This selective targeting is the principle of selective photothermolysis, first described by Anderson and Parrish in 1983, and it remains the foundation of every modern tattoo-removal laser.
Different ink colors absorb different wavelengths of light. Black and dark inks respond well to a 1064 nm wavelength, while brighter colors such as red are better targeted at 532 nm. Matching the wavelength to the ink — and choosing settings appropriate for your skin tone — is exactly the kind of judgment that comes from doing this for years rather than reading it off a chart.
Most tattoos take 6 to 12 sessions to clear, spaced 6 to 8 weeks apart so the skin can heal and the body can flush the broken-down ink between visits. Cost depends on the size, age, ink density and colors of your tattoo; sessions generally run $50 to $800, and we offer multi-session packages that lower the per-session cost. You will get a clear, honest quote at your free consultation — no surprises.

Convenient, accessible, and free to park
We are located right on Côte-des-Neiges, easy to reach by car or metro and a short walk from both Plamondon and Côte-Sainte-Catherine stations. Best of all, there are free parking spots right in front of the building, so you will not be circling the block hunting for a place before your appointment. For a treatment you will be coming back to several times, that small convenience adds up.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does Rico Clinic specialize in?
We focus on scalp micropigmentation (SMP), laser tattoo removal, SMP removal, and scar camouflage for both men and women. Our two specialists, Vlad and Brice, have personally experienced hair loss, so we bring both technical skill and genuine empathy to every appointment. We have been doing this from our Côte-des-Neiges clinic since 2017.
How much does laser tattoo removal cost in Montreal?
Sessions typically range from $50 to $800, depending on the size, age, colors and ink density of your tattoo, as well as your skin type. Most tattoos need 6 to 12 sessions spaced 6 to 8 weeks apart. We offer multi-session packages that bring the per-session price down, and you will get a personalized quote at your free consultation.
Does laser tattoo removal hurt?
Most people describe it as moderately uncomfortable rather than truly painful — often compared to a rubber band snapping against the skin. Sensitive areas like the head and neck feel it more than the arms or thighs. We use a cooling air system to take the edge off, and we can pause between passes whenever you need a breather.
Is the clinic discreet?
Yes. We designed the clinic with three separate rooms specifically so your treatment stays private and comfortable. Many clients value discretion, and our layout means you are never on display. From the consultation onward, the whole experience is calm, confidential, and unhurried.
Where is Rico Clinic and is there parking?
